Neanderthal Seeks Human: A Smart Romance (Knitting in the City, #1) - Penny Reid
I was in a reading slump when I picked up this book after remembering hearing good things about it on Twitter. Boy, am I glad I did.

This book is smart, a little nerdy, very cute with great sexual tension and a happy sigh-worthy HEA.

I think the author did an excellent job of balancing the heroine's quirky neuroticism with enough sweet making Janie lovable, not annoying. I loved Janie's foot-in-mouth disease, as I have that particular affliction. I also loved that although Janie is cast as the shy quiet nerd, she has a lovely group of supportive friends and was not made out to be a loner, as is often the case.

Quinn, Sir McHotpants, is lovely as the besotted hero.

Minor quibbles:

Quinn - would have liked more background on him. The reader knows virtually nothing aside from the fact he's rich and he used to be shady and now he's not?

There are some unbelievable points - especially the end scene with the knitting circle, but they were minor enough to just brush off.

Finally, the sexual tension was fabulous, but it would've been nice to get a paragraph or two payoff (I'm a shameless hussy).

If you need a palate cleanser between heavier books or are just looking for a fun read that will leave you with a smile, I highly recommend this read.
